A refreshing and nutritious side dish that is super green green green!
1 large bunch of Silver beet (rinsed and chopped up
Spices of your choice (such as turmeric powder, garlic powder, chilli flakes, ground black pepper and sumac powder)
Lemon zest and juice of half a lemon
1/2 cup of water
Heat up the oil in a wok or large frying pan and throw in the spices and stir till fragrant. Then add the greens and allow to cook whilst stirring through intermittently. You can turn down the heat slightly and add the water to braise the greens (this is like steaming them but only a small amount of water is used). Take them off the heat once cooked through and squeeze the lemon so the juice drizzles onto the cooked greens. Sprinkle an extra dash of black pepper and serve warm with fried eggs for breakfast or with your choice of meat, chicken, fish or tofu for your main meal.
